Please allow me to introduce myself: I am Donna Astern, publisher of the Virginia Church & Christian Business Guide® and also a local church pastor.
When I was a child and my father worked at the shipyard, our family belonged to Parkview Baptist Church in Newport News. I was born again when I was nine years old.
Many years later, I served in pastoral ministry in the Midwest for thirteen years. Four years ago, my husband and I relocated to Hampton Roads, being led by the Lord to plant a church here. It was a great delight to return to the area after so many years.
It has been on my heart for the past three or four years to provide a resource to connect people with churches and Christian businesses and schools. After moving here, I became aware of the challenges a newcomer might experience in looking for a church home, and also the challenges of a new church working to get the word out.
We love the local church, and seek to be a blessing to those looking for a place to call home, as well as those who preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God.
